07 Nov Mainlevel conducts gender analysis for culture and creative industries
Is it possible to overcome gender stereotypes in the culture and creative industries?
Mainlevel consultants Lena Siemon Marques and Anna Patzke Salgado have addressed this question among others while conducting a gender analysis for GIZ global project “culture and creative industries”. The assignment consists of a desk study including document analysis and interviews with gender focal points of six GIZ partner countries (Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Kenya, Senegal and South Africa).
This gender analysis aims towards a better understanding of gender roles in six GIZ partner countries as well as their social role perceptions in culture and creative industries. The report emphasised the chances and risks of local culture and creative artists to act as role models or influencers towards gender equality and the combat of sexism and gender-based violence in their countries.
The result of this assignment was presented on October 31 in Bonn. We thank GIZ for this interesting assignment!
