Preventing violence against women and girls SMS-based solution

International evidence shows that preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG) also requires engaging with men and boys.

As part of our assignment for the Partnerships for Prevention (PfP) programme by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Lesotho, Mainlevel is developing and testing the prototype of an SMS-based solution that aims to use men’s interest in sports as a hook. It will use a combination of sports messages and messages that promote positive masculinity for encouraging men to reflect and speak out against VAWG.

During the latest mission, our consultant Daniel Brumund and the GIZ team worked with local NGOs engaging with men to refine the concept and craft positive, thought-provoking content for the prototype. We’re excited to develop and test it in a few weeks time.
